BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. Forest fires that have been raging in various regions of Türkiye for several days have been partially brought under control,TurkicWorld reports.
Türkiye's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumaklı provided the latest updates on the fire situation through social media.
According to the information, air and ground operations in the Gordes district of Manisa province and the Esme district of Usak province successfully extinguished the flames. Efforts are now focused on cooling the remaining sources of smoke in these areas.
Fires in other regions of the country have also been partially extinguished.
To note, Azerbaijan also participated in the firefighting efforts. In accordance with the order of President Ilham Aliyev, a "BE-200CS" amphibious aircraft from the aviation unit of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to assist the brotherly country in combating the severe forest fires. The plane took off from Heydar Aliyev International Airport and headed to the Turkish city of Izmir.
