Turkey's Energy Ministry reports that gas production in Black Sea has reach 6 million cubic meters

Baku. TurkicWorld:

The head of the republic's department, Alparslan Bayraktar, expressed hope that by April 2025, gas production volumes will increase to 10 million cubic meters per day, TurkicWorld reports.

Turkey's natural gas production volumes at the Black Sea Sakarya field have reached 6 million cubic meters per day.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced this in X.

"Daily gas production volumes at the Sakarya field have reached a record 6 million cubic meters. Now 6 million of the 20 million households using natural gas in Turkey use the gas we produce in Sakarya. I hope that by April 2025 we will increase gas production volumes to 10 million cubic meters per day," the minister said at a meeting with the ruling Justice and Development Party activists in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak.

In May, he reported that gas production volumes at the Sakarya field had reached 5 million cubic meters per day. At the same time, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy announced plans to increase daily gas production volumes to 10 million cubic meters.

Bayraktar also announced plans for Turkey to create an offshore base for natural gas production. "We are creating an offshore base. Our new floating production platform is already on its way. We hope that it will be in Turkey at the end of September, and in the first half of 2025 it will arrive in Filhos and Zonguldak (cities on the Black Sea coast of Turkey - TASS note). With the help of this production facility, we will produce 10 million cubic meters of gas over 20 years at sea, 170 km from the coast," the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy noted.
