President Erdogan sends firm message to Armenian people

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Armenian people must recognize that their future is intricately linked with their neighboring nations, with whom they have shared a longstanding history, rather than with external influences, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TurkicWorld reports.

This statement was delivered during the Distinguished Visitors Day event held on May 30 as part of the EFES-2024 multinational exercise in Izmir.

"The moment Armenia frees itself from the influence of foreign powers and the Diaspora, it will become even closer to peace. Armenian people must recognize that their future is intricately linked with their neighboring nations, with whom they have shared a longstanding history, rather than with external influences," he said.

President Erdogan also emphasized that about 30 years later, a historic window of opportunity for stability in the region opened with the liberation of Karabakh.

"One truth must be well understood. Türkiye is not a country standing on the sidelines of global events. We are currently in a geography where the fiercest conflicts, political crises and confrontations are taking place. All the events that invaded the agenda of mankind are taking place in the immediate vicinity of Türkiye. Nobody knows when and how these wars, for which the costs in our region and the world are increasing day by day, will end," President Erdogan said.
