Türkiye’s Anka 3 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle created by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) will be the first unmanned tanker aircraft of the country, TurkicWorld reports.
According to the TUSAŞ officials, via this unmanned vehicle Türkiye will be able to fulfill a critical mission such as “air supply behind the front line”.
The importance of the tanker aircrafts is that they can transfer fuel with the systems they have. Thus, the warplane can successfully carry out the mission far beyond its diapason.
It should be noted that, that the maximum flying weight of the ANKA-3 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is 6.5 tons and it can carry 1.2 tons of cargo. The flight time of ANKA-3 is 10 hours at an altitude of 40,000 feet and it has a cruise speed of 250 kts.
In addition, the ANKA-3 UAV has internal weapon stores. Thus, ANKA-3 will be able to perform combat missions without being noticed by enemy radars.
