Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of emergency medical care was signed in Astana (Kazakhstan) between the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic said, TurkicWorld reports citing Kabar.
The ceremony was held at the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine, which will now become the central platform for coordinating efforts to respond to emergencies, pandemics and man-made disasters.
The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed its full support for this initiative, noting its strategic importance for the entire region. The creation of a single platform for interaction will allow states to exchange advanced technologies, jointly train specialists and strengthen the potential of air ambulances, especially in countries with hard-to-reach areas.
Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkin Checheibaev noted the importance of expanding cooperation: “Today's signing of the Memorandum is an important step towards closer and more systematic interaction in the field of emergency medicine between Turkic-speaking countries. Kyrgyzstan, as a country with mountainous terrain and remote regions, understands the importance of timely and coordinated emergency care like no other. We support the initiative to create a common response zone and are ready to contribute to its development.
For us, the exchange of knowledge and technology is of particular value. We are interested in training our specialists at simulation centers, conducting joint exercises and creating effective medical evacuation mechanisms. Thanks to such steps, we will be able to save more lives of our citizens and strengthen trust between the healthcare systems of our countries.”
Representatives of all participating countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye and Kazakhstan, spoke at the event. The meeting presented modern solutions in the field of medical aviation, simulation training, organization of specialized emergency services, including centers for stroke, toxicology, obstetrics and other areas.
Kazakhstan, which is hosting the initiative on its territory, demonstrated the capabilities of air ambulances, which annually performs more than 2,000 free flights in the interests of citizens. The meeting participants paid special attention to issues of mutual assistance, readiness for cross-border crises and the need to systematize efforts in the context of modern challenges.
Kyrgyzstan expressed its readiness to actively participate in the formation of a common response platform and intends to strengthen professional training of personnel, as well as expand the emergency assistance infrastructure in accordance with international standards.
The initiative creates a new level of partnership between Turkic-speaking countries, focused on the security, sustainability and health of citizens of the region.
