Azerbaijan to launch regular bus trips to Karabakh soon

The Baku-Shusha, Baku-Aghdam, Ahmadbayli-Shusha, Fuzuli International Airport-Shusha, Barda-Aghdam regular intercity bus trips will be launched in Azerbaijan from January 24, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov said at a press conference, TurkicWorld reports.

“The trips have already been made on each route in a test regime, the types of buses that will run have been determined,” the deputy minister added. “The Ahmadbayli-Shusha trips will be organized four times a week while the trips to other destinations twice a week. The bus schedule will be coordinated with the Fuzuli International Airport.”

Hummatov said that moreover, the activity of the Coordination Headquarters, created in accordance with order № 2303 of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated November 24, 2020, in connection with resolving of issues in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation, continues in accordance with the strategic directions and tasks set by the President for carrying out the construction and restoration work in these territories.

The deputy minister added that one of the main points of purposeful activity for the restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories is to ensure the rapid and safe return of Azerbaijani citizens to their native lands.

“The State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will launch bus trips to the territories liberated from occupation as part of the work being carried out in this sphere, to gradually organize regular trips for citizens to these territories,” the deputy minister said.

“The issue of launching regular bus trips becomes relevant in connection with the process of organizing the regular trips for people from different social groups to the territories liberated from occupation, huge restoration work and a big number of employees who are sent there on the basis of a corresponding permit,” Hummatov added.

Hummatov said that for this purpose, at the first stage, a decision was made to launch regular bus trips to the most popular destinations, taking into account the safety of traffic and passengers.
