BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. The project of the Rasht-Astara railway section is at the design and exploration stage, the Director General of the Autonomous Non-profit Organization on Assistance in the Development of Agro-industrial Activities "Eurasian Agrologistics", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alevtina Kirillova said during a video conference between media representatives and the trade delegation of Russia in Azerbaijan, TurkicWorld reports.
"Currently, the stage of designing and geological exploration of the Rasht-Astara railway section is underway and an active search is underway for companies that will participate in the project from both the Russian and Iranian sides. The railway section is expected to start functioning in early 2028," Kirillova said.
