BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have discussed the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the current state of bilateral strategic partnership between Baku and Washington.
Bayramov and Rubio held a telephone conversation on October 5, during which they reviewed the current status and prospects for developing Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership, as well as issues related to the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
The two officials noted significant progress in bilateral relations since the historic summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025. They also stressed the importance of working groups established under the Azerbaijan-US Strategic Partnership Charter in advancing cooperation in the priority areas defined by the document.
The sides also reviewed major results achieved within the Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership in 2026. According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, documents signed during Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum have substantially expanded the practical scope of bilateral cooperation.
These agreements cover areas including energy, hydrocarbon exploration, development and production, investment, digital technologies and trade.
Bayramov briefed Rubio on Azerbaijan’s continued efforts to advance its peace agenda, strengthen confidence-building measures and reinforce regional stability.
The two ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
