BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army Colonel General Karim Valiyev has met with a military delegation from Turkmenistan during the ADEX 2026 defence exhibition in Baku.
The meeting took place at the Baku Expo Center, where a military delegation of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan arrived to participate in the 6th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition, ADEX 2026.
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said Valiyev, who also serves as First Deputy Minister of Defence, held talks with the delegation headed by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Defence Minister Colonel Baymyrat Soltanov.
During the meeting, Valiyev highlighted the importance Azerbaijan attaches to developing relations with the military institutions of Turkic-speaking countries.
The Turkmen delegation thanked the Azerbaijani side for the reception and noted that relations between the two countries are based on friendly, fraternal, historical and cultural ties.
The meeting was held as part of the contacts taking place during ADEX 2026, which brings together defence representatives and military industry participants from different countries.
