BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. Poland’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Pawel Radomski, has been summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs over a television programme that Baku described as biased and directed against Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on a report broadcast on August 26, 2026, during the “Eastern Express” programme on Poland’s public broadcaster TVP World.
The Azerbaijani side expressed strong protest over what it described as biased, unobjective and completely unacceptable allegations directed against the Azerbaijani state and the country’s leadership.
Baku also objected to what it characterised as provocative conduct by the programme’s presenter. A formal note of protest was presented to the Polish side in connection with the broadcast.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the dissemination of information it considers a distortion of reality raises serious questions at a time when Azerbaijan and Armenia are pursuing normalisation and peace and Baku says it is making determined efforts to ensure lasting peace, stability and security in the region.
The ministry described the broadcast of negative content about Azerbaijan by a Polish government-funded public broadcaster as an unfriendly step contradicting the spirit of partnership between the two countries.
According to the Azerbaijani side, such actions have the potential to cause serious damage to bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Poland.
Poland was urged to take immediate and effective measures to prevent what Baku described as provocative campaigns targeting Azerbaijan.
