Azerbaijan directs major investments to industry, transport and construction in 1H2026

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The main part of investments in Azerbaijan was directed to industry, transport, and construction in the first half of 2026.

This is reflected in a report released by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

The report noted that investment in fixed capital from all sources of financing rose by 13.8% year-on-year to 9.3 billion manat ($5.47 billion).

According to the report, 5.04 billion manat ($2.96 billion), or 54.2% of total investment, was directed to production sectors.

"Investment in the oil and gas sector increased by 34.3% compared with the same period last year, while investment in the non-oil and gas sector rose by 5.5%. Of the 2.5 billion manat ($1.47 billion) invested in the non-oil and gas sector, 0.3 billion manat ($0.17 billion) was allocated to the non-oil and gas industry. State-sector investors accounted for 41.8% of total investment, while private-sector investors accounted for 58.2%.

Investment in fixed capital from domestic sources accounted for 74.2% of total investment. Industry accounted for the largest share of investment at 46%, followed by transportation and warehousing at 23.1% and construction at 20.9%. Investment in the industrial sector increased by 21% compared with the same period last year. This growth was mainly driven by investment in the mining industry," the report added.
