Zelenskyy meets Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during the minister's official visit to Ukraine.

According to a post published on Zelenskyy's Telegram channel, Bayramov's visit marks the first official trip by Azerbaijan's foreign minister to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Zelenskyy said Bayramov began his visit in Irpin, where he visited a school, a hospital and a rehabilitation center supported by Azerbaijan.

"Thank you very much for coming to Ukraine during this difficult time for our country and our people. We appreciate your solidarity with the Ukrainian people," Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and the impact of Russia's blockade of grain export routes.

They also reviewed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense cooperation, and opportunities to expand economic ties in the energy, oil and gas, and agriculture sectors.

Zelenskyy thanked Azerbaijan for its continued humanitarian and energy assistance and for maintaining a constructive dialogue with Ukraine.
