BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Azerbaijan supports the priorities set by Switzerland within the framework of its OSCE chairmanship and considers it important to effectively use the organization's potential, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint briefing with Member of the Federal Council of Switzerland and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ignazio Cassis, in Baku today, TurkicWorld's correspondent reports from the event.
The minister noted that since January of this year, Switzerland has been chairing the OSCE, and the organization's agenda includes important areas such as science diplomacy, innovative technologies, water resources management, energy security, and digital security.
"We welcome these priorities. We believe that expanding cooperation in these areas within the OSCE area is extremely important in terms of economic growth and improving people's well-being," Bayramov also said.
The minister emphasized that currently there is a complex and unstable security environment in the OSCE area.
According to him, active cooperation of member states based on consensus and the use of all existing capabilities of the OSCE are necessary for the organization to maintain its importance in such conditions.
"Azerbaijan is committed to these principles and intends to continue its active efforts in this direction," Bayramov added.
