Azerbaijan's foreign minister receives Estonia's new ambassador

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on August 3 received Tiina Nirk, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nirk presented copies of her credentials to Bayramov, who congratulated her on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia in the fields of politics, economy, trade, transport, digitalization, education and other areas.

The establishment of an Estonian embassy in Azerbaijan was welcomed as an important step expected to strengthen bilateral relations, intensify political dialogue and reinforce the institutional framework of cooperation.

The two sides also underlined the importance of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, noting that its next meeting would help open new avenues for bilateral economic ties.

They further stressed the need to deepen cooperation in education, including academic exchange programs and partnerships between higher education institutions.

Ambassador Tiina Nirk reaffirmed Estonia's commitment to strengthening relations with Azerbaijan and said she would make every effort to further expand bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
