BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Dirk Lölke, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan, on July 28.
According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Lölke presented copies of his credentials to the foreign minister. Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success in his future work.
The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-Germany relations, including political dialogue, economic and trade cooperation, energy security, green energy, industry, transport and communications, as well as humanitarian and cultural ties.
The sides noted that President Ilham Aliyev's recent visit to Germany had laid the foundation for a new stage in bilateral relations. They highlighted the importance of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership, the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council, the further development of existing cooperation mechanisms and the continuation of high-level contacts.
The meeting also emphasized that nearly two centuries of historical ties and a rich shared heritage between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Germany provide a solid basis for expanding cooperation based on mutual respect and trust.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international security issues. Minister Bayramov briefed the German ambassador on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
