BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. Azerbaijan and Russia have discussed cooperation in combating climate change, COP-related issues, and other regional and international topics of mutual interest.
On July 23, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, Assistant to the President of Russia and Special Representative for Climate Issues.
Minister Bayramov shared Azerbaijan’s experience and achievements within the framework of COP-29 Presidency and highlighted the country’s close collaboration with Australia and Turkey, which will serve as COP-31 Chair and host, respectively.
The meeting also covered bilateral cooperation on the Caspian Sea. The parties emphasized the importance of intensifying the work of the bilateral working group established on Caspian issues.
They stressed the protection of the Caspian Sea’s water resources and unique ecosystem, including the application of innovative technologies in agriculture and the implementation of joint projects. Other bilateral matters of mutual interest were also discussed.
