Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2022. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kyrgyzstan Ibrahim Al-Radi.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of political and economic cooperation between the countries, and also spoke about the development of inter-parliamentary relations.

Speaker Nurlanbek Shakiev noted that Saudi Arabia is one of the priority partners for Kyrgyzstan. He also recalled that the diplomatic relations between the states turned 30 years old. “In recent years, our cooperation has reached a new level, especially relations in the field of tourism are being strengthened. But this is not the limit. Our main goal should be to increase interest in various areas of the economy, as we have great potential to increase the level of mutual trade,” he said.

In addition to this, the speaker emphasized the need to open direct flights and the importance of facilitating the conditions for obtaining an electronic tourist visa.

Nurlanbek Shakiev highly appreciated the activities of Ibrahim Al-Radi in Kyrgyzstan and thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the comprehensive support provided to the republic.

“Currently, more than 20 draft bilateral agreements are being considered. We must urgently support all initiatives aimed at developing interstate relations,” he said.

In turn, Ambassador Ibrahim Al-Radi thanked Nurlanbek Shakiev for the warm welcome and congratulated him on his election to the post of Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh.

He also added that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia is developing successfully. “This year, an exhibition of Kyrgyz goods was organized in the city of Riyadh, and meetings were actively held both at a high level and between entrepreneurs of the two countries. We see that the number of tourists from Saudi Arabia, who are interested in the beautiful nature of Kyrgyzstan, is also growing from year to year,” Ibrahim Al-Radi concluded.

The ambassador also touched upon the issues of increasing the volume of trade and attracting investments, and invited Toraga Nurlanbek Shakiev to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
