Azerbaijan’s embassy in Iran resumes operations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. On April 12, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran resumed its operations, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said, TurkicWorld reports.

"At the initial stage, the embassy will operate with a limited number of diplomatic and administrative staff.

Taking into account security issues and organizational aspects, the embassy’s activities are planned to be regulated in stages.

The resumption of the activities of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iran shortly after the cessation of military operations and the announcement of a two-week ceasefire is a clear example of the special importance Azerbaijan attaches to relations with neighboring and friendly Iran.

Our country once again declares its support for initiatives aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region," Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said.
