BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The current state and prospects of bilateral relations have been discussed between Azerbaijan and India, the statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, TurkicWorld reports.
The discussion took place during the meeting of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with a delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The meeting reviewed cooperation in the fields of economic and trade relations, energy, tourism, and education, highlighted positions on issues of disagreement between the two countries, and emphasized the importance of relevant dialogue.
The parties exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the current tension in the Middle East, and noted the importance of ensuring stability and security in the region. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided for the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the MEA. The political consultations were chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side and by George from the Indian side.
