BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 5. The Baku Military Court has read out the verdicts of the defendants in the ongoing trial of Armenian citizens accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, and other offenses during Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, TurkicWorld reports.
According to the court’s ruling, the accused, Arayik Harutyunyan, has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Prosecutors representing the state in the case had requested that Harutyunyan receive a life sentence.
The trial involves individuals accused of serious offenses, including planning and waging aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, forcibly seizing and retaining power, and numerous other crimes committed during the Armenian military aggression.
