BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. The commemoration ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China on the Memorial Day of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. At the beginning of the event, a wreath of flowers was laid in front of the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Embassy, and a minute’s silence was observed in his dear memory, TurkicWorld reported.
Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov spoke about the life path of the eminent statesman, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who dedicated his life to the founding and developing the powerful state of Azerbaijan, and his invaluable services in strengthening the Azerbaijani state and statehood. He stated that Heydar Aliyev went down in history as a wise leader, a great strategist, and a globally-minded political leader. He emphasized that Heydar Aliyev led the Azerbaijani people and state through the difficult and harsh trials of history and laid a reliable foundation for a bright future.
The Ambassador noted that the Great Leader paid special attention to the development of Azerbaijan-China relations. On the initiative of Heydar Aliyev, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in China was established, and his official visit to China on March 7-10, 1994, is of particular importance in relations between the two countries. Thanks to the pragmatic and far-sighted policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of the political course of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty has been restored, and our country has become a rapidly developing country in the region. Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China have also risen to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
Subsequently, referring to the fact that the Great Leader always based his activities on the principles of humanism, the Embassy staff visited the "Beijing Children's Welfare Institute," which provides social rehabilitation and adaptation services for children in need of special care and supports their integration into society.
In his conversation with the institution's employees, Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov stated that the Azerbaijani people are known for their compassion and humanism. National Leader Heydar Aliyev also placed compassion, humanism, and moral values above all else throughout all periods of his activity. It is no coincidence that the today Heydar Aliyev Foundation also builds its activities on the principles of humanism to which the National Leader committed. The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, implements large-scale social and humanitarian projects and organizes charitable events. On holidays and significant days, she meets with children with disabilities and organizes interesting cultural programs for them. These activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation serve to spread humanism more widely in society and instill a sense of compassion in people.
The head of the "Beijing Children's Welfare Institute" highly appreciated the attention and care of the Embassy for children in need of special care, and stated that we are grateful to the Azerbaijani people and the Embassy for such an initiative full of mercy. Mercy knows no borders, for children here, bringing warmth from Azerbaijan, through mountains and rivers, a feeling is created that is not expressed in words. Kindness shown in the name of a genius personality like Heydar Aliyev delights the residents of our institution and increases their self-confidence.
