BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received a delegation from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation during their visit to the Kingdom, TurkicWorld reports.
The meeting with Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva focused on the strong ties, friendly relations, and ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bahrain. They also discussed initiatives to further strengthen these connections, as well as the Foundation’s international projects.
Leyla Aliyeva conveyed President Ilham Aliyev’s warm greetings to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and extended his invitation to visit Azerbaijan.
The King praised Azerbaijan’s strong international standing and President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, both in the region and globally. He also commended the country’s ongoing reconstruction and development efforts.
King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa congratulated Azerbaijan once again on successfully hosting COP29 in Baku. He noted that Azerbaijan consistently organizes international events at a high level and reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for such global initiatives.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized that the ongoing political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Bahrain is driving cooperation in economic and cultural spheres. The month-long presentation of the international art project MAMA, Mother Nature, in Manama was highlighted as a clear reflection of the close cultural ties between the two nations.
Bahrain is the first country to host this international project following its 2024 debut at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. It was noted that cultural initiatives like these contribute to strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering deeper connections between the Azerbaijani and Bahraini people.
In this context, the meeting also underscored the importance of international projects led by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under the leadership of Azerbaijan’s First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. These initiatives span various fields and play a key role in promoting cultural exchange.
Special attention was given to the Foundation’s humanitarian projects in other countries, as well as Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva’s work in education and cultural development through the Foundation’s programs.
