BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. The spokesperson for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aykhan Hajizada shared his thoughts on the future of relations between the US and Azerbaijan, TurkicWorld reports.
Speaking to reporters, Hajizada stated that despite Azerbaijan being a major oil and gas producer, the country's long-term shift toward green energy will require significant measures to reduce carbon emissions.
"Given the recent presidential elections in the US, it's difficult to predict the exact policies of the new administration and the steps it will take. Undoubtedly, during the previous administration under President Trump, the US minimized its participation in the framework of this convention," he said.
The spokesperson also noted that Azerbaijan is currently implementing large-scale projects aimed at transitioning to green energy.
"These projects are among the most important in diversifying Azerbaijan's energy infrastructure," Hajizada added.
