BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. US-Azerbaijan relations hold particular significance for maintaining peace in the South Caucasus, the political analyst Azer Garayev told TurkicWorld
"Two main points can be highlighted in US President Joseph Biden's letter to President Ilham Aliyev. Biden highly appreciated the US relations with Azerbaijan in the field of energy security, regional stability and economic cooperation and emphasised the strategic importance of the Southern Gas Corridor. This underscores Azerbaijan's role as a stable and trustworthy partner in global energy markets. Another critical point in the letter addresses Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. While Biden underlined the importance of peaceful resolution of the conflict, in reality Armenia's ongoing resistance to the peace process cannot be overlooked," he said.
Garayev stressed that Armenia frequently fails to honor agreements and disrupts progress.
"This is clear from recent incidents, such as Armenia's withdrawal from international agreements and its breach of the ceasefire. Armenia's provocations in reaction to constructive peace initiatives by Azerbaijan and its attempts to delay the signature of a peace deal are seen as destabilizing actions. These violations by Armenia undermine the peace process and hinder efforts to secure lasting peace in the region," political analyst explained.
He further stated that Azerbaijan consistently strives for peace while upholding its position within the framework of international law.
