BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received today a delegation headed by Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council Michael Carpenter, TurkicWorld reports.
According to the information, bilateral and regional issues between Azerbaijan and the US, as well as the current state and prospects of the normalization process of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed at the meeting.
The sides emphasized the importance of increasing efforts to create positive dynamics in bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the US, as well as identifying prospects for further cooperation.
In the course of the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the latest meeting in Istanbul. It was emphasized that despite significant progress in the negotiations, the most serious obstacle to the signing of a final peace agreement is the continuation of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian constitution and several other legal and political documents of this country.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional issues of mutual interest.
