BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Azerbaijan has achieved great development over the past 33 years, the publication of UK's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld on X said on the occasion of October 18, the Day of Restoration of Azerbaijan's Independence,TurkicWorld reports.
"Azerbaijan restored its independence on October 18, 1991. Azerbaijan as a state has achieved great development over the past 33 years. Congratulations on this magnificent holiday!" the publication of the Ambassador reads.
Today Azerbaijan celebrates the Day of Restoration of Independence.
To recall, the nation's Supreme Council adopted the Constitutional Act "On the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan" on October 18, 1991.
The constitutional act established the Republic of Azerbaijan as the successor to the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, referencing the Declaration of Independence from May 28, 1918, and the Declaration of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Restoration of the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan" from August 30, 1991.
October 18, 2024, marks the 33rd anniversary of the restoration of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
