BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. A plenary session was held to commemorate the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan and to celebrate the professional holiday of its employees, TurkicWorld reports.
The event took place at the Baku Congress Center and was attended by chief prosecutors and delegations from member countries of the International Association of Prosecutors visiting Baku.
The session featured a video that showcased the evolution of the prosecutor's office.
During the event, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev announced that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic observes the anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office's establishment on October 1.
"Over more than a century, significant reforms have been implemented within the Prosecutor's Office, especially after the Soviet period and in the mid-1990s under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who aligned the country's legal system with international standards," Aliyev said.
The Chief Prosecutor added that a new phase of reforms began under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in 2020, aimed at addressing emerging issues and integrating advanced modern practices.
