BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Qatar’s Barzan Holdings aims to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the development of solutions to combat drones and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the defense sector, Chief Strategic Capabilities Officer at Barzan Holdings Anzan Al Naimi told TurkicWorld in an exclusive interview within the framework of the 5th anniversary of Azerbaijan's international defense exhibition ADEX 2024, which is being held at Baku Expo Center.
"First of all, Qatar and Azerbaijan have a long history of relations. One of our main areas of cooperation is the military and defense spheres. Our vision is almost limitless, but it will depend on the market requirements in the future. Development of solutions to combat drones and use of artificial intelligence in the defense sector will be our priority in the future," he said.
Anzan Al Naimi emphasized that Barzan Holdings is currently developing a project with Azerbaijan to establish a factory for the production of textiles for both domestic and international markets, as well as for the needs of the military. Thus, the company produces textiles intended for defense purposes.
He also noted the importance of the ADEX exhibition for the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar.
"The ADEX exhibition is a very important event for Qatar to enter the Azerbaijani market. We have attended previous exhibitions, but this year we are participating for the first time, and I hope it will not be the last time. Relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan, as well as business opportunities, continue to grow, so our participation in the exhibition will definitely not be our last," the company's representative added.
According to him, ADEX has a significant impact at the strategic level. It is, in fact, localization of opportunities in both Azerbaijan and Qatar, which will contribute to strengthening the economies of both countries. From an economic point of view, Barzan Holdings is tapping into the markets of both countries, creating opportunities and jobs in Azerbaijan to serve both domestic and international markets. In this way, the exhibition supports the economic and defense sectors and promotes cooperation.
The 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX, the largest event dedicated to the defense industry in the region, is taking place September 24-26 at the Baku Expo Center. The 14th International Exhibition of Equipment for Internal Security, Safety, and Rescue Securex Caspian takes place in parallel.
The first ADEX exhibition was organized in 2014. The list of exhibitors and the sectors it covers has been expanding from year to year.
The exhibition has brought together many companies representing more than 50 countries and about 200 official delegations over 10 years of successful activity. The exhibition has been visited by more than 30,000 guests over the years.
