BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Turkish company Roketsan has rolled out a medium-range cruise missile for naval systems, dubbed ‘ÇAKIR’, at the ADEX-2024 exhibition, TurkicWorld reports.
The missile targets command centers, military installations, and air defense systems on land and sea. It is designed to engage a diverse array of targets, encompassing terrestrial and maritime objectives, such as command centers, ground installations, and air defense systems.
The missile is deployable from multiple platforms, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), fixed-wing aircraft, and fighter jets.
The missile, equipped with a 70 kg payload, provides substantial explosive capability and may be adapted for several engagement types, including armor-piercing, high-explosive, and thermobaric configurations. The missile weighs 275 kg, has a length of 3.3 meters, and possesses a range surpassing 150 kilometers, rendering it a viable long-range strike choice.
To note, the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition "ADEX," the largest event focused on the defense industry in the area, will take place from September 24 to 26 at the Baku Expo Center. The 14th Exhibition for International Security, Safety, and Rescue Equipment, titled "Securex Caspian," will be concurrently organized.
The inaugural ADEX exhibition was held in 2014. Despite commemorating its fifth anniversary this year, the biennial show has been in operation for a decade, consistently broadening its roster of exhibitors and the areas it encompasses annually.
The expo has convened several firms from over 50 countries and around 200 official delegations throughout its decade of continuous operation. Over 30,000 visitors have attended the event throughout the years.
