BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. The bilateral meeting between Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani was held in Batumi, TurkicWorld reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
Furthermore, it was noted that at the meeting with the participation of representatives of both countries, Irakli Chikovani, welcoming the guests, emphasized the important role of the meetings of the heads of the two states in the development of ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
"Expressing satisfaction with his visit to the neighboring and brotherly country, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov emphasized that, as in many areas, ties between the two countries in the military sphere are constantly developing.
The Azerbaijani Defense Minister mentioned that holding mutual visits and meetings in various formats is a clear example of the high level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
At the meeting, the prospects for military cooperation between the two countries were discussed, and there was a detailed exchange of views on increasing the intensity of joint exercises.
Also, it was noted that both countries support the territorial integrity adopted at the international level.
Afterward, the sides discussed issues of ensuring peace and security in the region, new prospects for cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military-educational spheres, as well as other issues of mutual interest," the information notes.
