Delegations from around world expected to monitor Azerbaijani parliamentary election - CEC

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. Delegations from all continents are expected to arrive in Azerbaijan to monitor the parliamentary election, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said at a meeting for chairmen of district election commissions, TurkicWorld reports.

Panahov further said that invitations to observe the election in Azerbaijan are being sent out by three structures.

"We have begun sending invitations to organizations. Following the instructions of the head of state, web cameras have been installed in 1000 polling stations. Through the CEC website, anyone worldwide can observe the election via these webcams, and each year, the number of observers utilizing this service continues to grow. Unlike in some countries, there is no requirement in Azerbaijan for a permit to observe an election through webcams," he said.

On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
