Some states' unjust charges against Azerbaijan prove fully unacceptable - Türkiye's VP

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. It is unacceptable that some states subject Azerbaijan to unfair accusations, the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz said during the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha, TurkicWorld reports.

He noted that from the beginning Türkiye considered the victory in Karabakh not only as the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation, but also as the opening of a historic window of opportunity for peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

"We are proud to witness reconstruction and construction work in the liberated territories. I believe that the soon-to-be signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will remove the biggest obstacle to a comprehensive settlement in the South Caucasus. Despite the unfair approach of international organizations over the years towards Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people, under the resolute leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, have regained what is rightfully theirs. It is unacceptable that the states that did not raise their voices in defense of 1 million of our Azerbaijani brothers, once exiled from their homes, today make unfair accusations against Azerbaijan. The Turkic world should strongly support Azerbaijan against these unfounded claims," Yılmaz added.

The summit, organized at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, is attended by Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz, and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.
