He made the remark during the panel discussion themed "Building National Skills for Sustainable Environmental Rehabilitation" at the conference "Reducing the Impact of Mines on the Environment - Mobilizing Resources for a Safe and Green Future."
He noted that in Azerbaijan, he witnessed ecologically competent demining for the first time.
"We thank Azerbaijan for such a professional approach. We have close ties with the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society. Based on what I saw yesterday in the liberated territories, I can say that Azerbaijan has a lot to learn from, and its experience should be studied. We should use new equipment and machinery for demining work. This is one of the factors affecting the success of the demining process," he added.
The second day of the traditional international humanitarian conference on demining was held in Baku under the joint organization of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The theme of the III International Humanitarian Demining Conference, held on May 30-31, this year, is "Reducing the Impact of Mines on the Environment: Mobilizing Resources for a Safe and Green Future."
