Azerbaijan attaches great importance to close co-op with WHO - minister

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Medical services are now being provided in Azerbaijan's territories liberated from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev said at a meeting with World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, TurkicWorld reports.

Teymur Musayev noted the great importance attached to close cooperation with WHO and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the organization to Azerbaijan over the past period.

"As a result of reforms carried out in the country's healthcare sector under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, a lot of important work has been done in accordance with new modern concepts, digitalization, use of successful international practices, development of primary health care and medical education, vaccination of children, as well as preparation of new legislative documents," the minister stressed.

He noted that the population of the Karabakh region is being examined and treated at the state level.

The minister added that during the localized anti-terrorist activities carried out last month, the civilian population was not harmed, the activities were directed at the legitimate military infrastructure.
