Azerbaijani prosecutor general takes part in meeting of OTS countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The delegation headed by the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev visited Ankara to participate in the 2nd meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), TurkicWorld reports.

The delegation visited the Anitkabir mausoleum, where the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is buried, and the memory of Ataturk was honored before the event.

Kamran Aliyev, in his speech at the meeting, noted that the OTS makes an important contribution to the consolidation of efforts in the field of law enforcement in the member countries, reliable protection of human rights and freedoms, and the fight against all forms of crime. The special significance of the 2nd meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the OTS on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Türkiye was noted.

Aliyev stressed that three years ago an end was put to the thirty-year occupation of Azerbaijani lands, historical justice and international law were restored. Despite the fact that the occupation has ended, its consequences still persist. The prosecutor general said that Armenia barbarously destroyed nine cities and hundreds of villages of Azerbaijan.

In addition, more than 300 Azerbaijani citizens have become victims of mine terror by Armenia or have been seriously injured after the end of the second Karabakh war to date. He added that the Azerbaijani army carried out local anti-terrorist measures a month ago, all the tasks facing it were completed in just one day, and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was fully restored.

Aliyev also said that today, thanks to the attention and care of Azerbaijan's leadership, restoration and construction work is being successfully carried out on the lands of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation.

Moreover, speaking at the 2nd meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the member countries of the OTS, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Türkiye Bekir Sahin, Chairman of the Supreme Court Mehmet Akarca, Minister of Justice Yilmaz Tunc, Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev and Chairman of the Council of Elders Binali Yildirim stressed the importance of the event.

A statement on the results of the event was adopted at the end of the meeting.

It was decided to hold a regular meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
