Iran parliament speaker says ‘enemy cannot stop our missiles’

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said the country is rebuilding and strengthening its military capabilities faster than its adversaries, arguing that Iran has improved its performance through successive rounds of conflict. His latest remarks were reported by Iranian media and come amid renewed regional tensions.

Ghalibaf said Iran’s armed forces had performed more effectively in each successive stage of fighting and suggested that Tehran was continuing to expand both the quality and quantity of its military capabilities.

“We have made the enemy conclude that it cannot stop our missiles,” Ghalibaf said, according to the remarks reported by Fars.

He added that Iran expects to have an even greater advantage in any future round of fighting, both qualitatively and quantitatively.

The comments reflect Tehran’s continued emphasis on its missile capabilities as a central element of its military strategy. Ghalibaf has made similarly forceful statements about Iran’s missile power during earlier phases of the conflict.
