BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 26. An entertainment event for children requiring special care was held on August 26 at the initiative of Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Children of Azerbaijani servicemen who lost their lives while defending and restoring the country’s territorial integrity, children deprived of parental care and living in boarding schools, children with disabilities, and those requiring special care were invited to the event.
The celebration was organised to provide the children with an enjoyable and memorable day, create opportunities for meaningful leisure activities and ensure that every child felt surrounded by attention and care.
The children arrived at recreation venues by special buses and participated in a wide range of entertainment programmes and games throughout the day.
They also demonstrated their abilities during creative workshops and master classes, danced and spent time with their peers.
The seaside event, held in a summer atmosphere, also provided children with an opportunity to enjoy activities in the swimming pool.
A lunch was organised for the participants following the entertainment programmes and games.
Children whose birthdays fell on August 26 were given an opportunity to celebrate their special day together with their peers.
At the end of the event, each child received gifts from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as a keepsake from the day.
Supporting children from vulnerable groups occupies an important place in the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Foundation regularly organises programmes for children deprived of parental care, those requiring special support and children of fallen servicemen, while also implementing projects aimed at strengthening their social protection.
