BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. US President Donald Trump has reiterated his position that Iran must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon, stressing that preventing Tehran from obtaining such a capability remains his administration’s top priority.
“The number one goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape, or form, a nuclear weapon,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump’s latest statement comes amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran and ongoing disputes over Iran’s nuclear programme. The issue of Iran’s nuclear capabilities remains one of the central points in discussions over the future of the conflict and any potential diplomatic agreement.
The US president’s comments also underline Washington’s continued focus on preventing Iran from developing or obtaining nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
