Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova Independence Day

The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Celebrated the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan at Baku State University

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17.

On May 16, 2026, a grand lecture-concert by the world-renowned ethno-folk ensemble “TURAN”, the musical brand of the Turkic World and Ambassador of Turkic culture and heritage, was held at Baku State University (BSU). The concert was organized by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan,TurkicWorld reports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, congratulated the entire Azerbaijani people on the upcoming Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noting that this remarkable holiday is a symbol of sovereignty, national unity, and the strength of Azerbaijani statehood. She emphasized that independent Azerbaijan, under the leadership of the President, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is confidently progressing, strengthening its position on the international stage and making an important contribution to the development and unity of the Turkic World. Professor Aktoty Raimkulova also highlighted the significance of such events in strengthening cultural ties among Turkic peoples.

The performances of the TURAN ensemble were accompanied by artistic commentaries reflecting the unity of the Turkic World, its ancient roots, and shared cultural heritage. The ensemble members also provided students with detailed information about the folklore art of Turkic peoples, the features of national costumes, and the origins of ancient musical instruments.
