Cooperation expands between the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and the Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage of Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. On 27 April 2026, within the framework of the working visit of the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, to Gaziantep (Türkiye), a meeting was held with the Head of the Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage of Türkiye, Professor Şaban Doğan, TurkicWorld reports.

The parties discussed opportunities for strategic partnership in the preservation and international promotion of the shared heritage of the Turkic world.

During the meeting, Aktoty Raimkulova congratulated Şaban Doğan on his appointment as Head of the Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage of Türkiye. The President of the Foundation noted that the project held in Gaziantep, “Strategic Cooperation on Turkic Cultural Heritage: Combating the Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property,” represents an important opportunity to deepen cooperation.

Professor Şaban Doğan spoke about the objectives of the institution he leads and emphasized that they attach special importance to cooperation with the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. He noted that ongoing research and archaeological excavations are not only academic in nature but also contribute to strengthening the shared historical memory of the Turkic world.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue, with both sides expressing confidence in the prospects for further cooperation.
