BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The 100th anniversary of the death of Ashiq Alasgar has been included in UNESCO's 2026-2027 jubilee program, the publication of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO said on X page, TurkicWorld reports.
The decision was approved at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Ashig Alasgar was an Azerbaijani mystic troubadour and a highly regarded poet of Azerbaijani folk songs.
