BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. Speaking at the event, which was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions in Beijing, military attaches, representatives of the Chinese public, business circles, Azerbaijanis studying and working in China, Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov noted that the corresponding Decree of President Ilham Aliyev declared 2025 the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" in Azerbaijan, and this decision unites two important milestones in our nation’s modern history - the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the 5th anniversary of our country’s glorious Victory in the Patriotic War, TurkicWorld reports.
"These two events together symbolize the foundations of modern Azerbaijani statehood - the rule of law embodied in our Constitution, and the hard-won independence and territorial integrity restored through the unity of our people, courage of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the determination and leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev," B.Guseinov stressed.
It was noted that the Constitution, adopted in 1995 under the visionary leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid the groundwork for a stable system of governance, the protection of citizens’ rights, and the institutionalization of national sovereignty. The Patriotic War of 2020 and 2023 local anti-terrorist operations meanwhile, reaffirmed our nation’s unity and strength, restoring Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over its internationally recognized territories.
"Today, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan is a modern, strong and sovereign state, which is guided by constitutional values and norms of international law. Victorious in war and firm in peace, Azerbaijan known as a leader in the region and reputable country in the world, successfully defending national interests and security while contributing to stability and cooperation in the region”, the diplomat said.
Ambassador B. Huseynov, represented by a special guest of the event - a participant in the April battles, awarded the medal "For the Motherland" Lieutenant Colonel Vugar Abdulazimov noted that our people will never forget the heroism of the participants in the just struggle for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Then the pearls of Azerbaijani music performed by musicians Chilanay Badalova, Javid Mehdiyev, Jalal Kerimov and Emin Kyazymzade were presented, videos about our country were demonstrated.
