FUZULI, Azerbaijan, October 17. October 17 marks City Day in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli city, TurkicWorld reports.
To commemorate the occasion, a festive event is taking place in the city, organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts.
The event features participation from state and government officials, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, artists, and other attendees.
Many residents returning to their homeland have eagerly anticipated today’s celebrations. Guests can look forward to themed exhibitions and an entertaining concert program featuring performances from various artists and creative groups.
The program includes photo exhibitions on themes such as "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Fuzuli," "On the Wings of Time: Fuzuli," and an art exhibition titled "My Fuzuli."
Additionally, a performance of the play "Fuzuli 530," workshops on decorative folk art, and a children’s entertainment zone are planned. Information will also be shared about the historical and cultural landmarks of the Fuzuli district, showcasing artifacts uncovered during archaeological excavations.
The event will conclude with a gala concert and fireworks display.
According to the decree signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on July 31, 2023, the Day of Fuzuli City is celebrated annually on October 17.
