Kyrgyz-Italian business forum held in Rome

A Kyrgyz-Italian business forum was held in Rome on Thursday as part of the official visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Italy.

The National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan said that during the event, the Kyrgyz side presented investment opportunities in such sectors of the Kyrgyz Republic as agriculture, light industry, bottled water, banking, and energy.

The Italian side presented leading government organizations such as the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian insurance and financial group SACE, the National Institute for Assistance to the Italian Economy Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the organization in the field of internationalization of Italian companies SIMEST and others.

"Today the national economy of Kyrgyzstan is developing at a steady pace. With the participation of foreign investors, large infrastructure and international projects are being implemented, including the construction of hydroelectric power plants, highways and the modernization of airports,” Talantbek Imanov, Director of the National Investment Agency said.

He noted that the business forum provides a unique opportunity to discuss the prospects and opportunities that Kyrgyzstan offers to Italian investors and businessmen.

“We see great potential in various sectors of our economy, such as agriculture, mining, energy, tourism and information technology. “Country Presentation of Kyrgyzstan” is not only an opportunity to present the economic, investment and banking potential of Kyrgyzstan, but also a good platform for establishing new contacts, establishing cooperation, exchanging experience and knowledge. The participation of so many companies speaks of the interest of the Kyrgyz business community in the Italian Republic and its economy,” Imanov said.

More than 50 participants and 40 companies took part in the event from the Kyrgyz side. More than 62 companies took part from the Italian side.
