Talks were held in Italy on Oct. 3 between President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Speaker of the Senate of Italy Ignazio La Russa.
The sides exchanged views on topical issues of mutual interest, including the development of inter-parliamentary ties in the field of lawmaking. Regional issues and certain aspects of cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
Speaker La Russa noted with satisfaction that the Kyrgyz leader’s visit was an important event in the bilateral relations between Italy and Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side is determined to develop mutual trade and promote joint investment projects with Italy. Kyrgyzstan has all opportunities and a favorable investment climate for foreign entrepreneurs to enter the country's market and make investments.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is open to attracting foreign investment, including from Italy, to implement promising projects in the country in the mining sector, industrial cooperation, processing of agricultural products, energy, construction, tourism and others.
President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that bilateral cooperation has a significant potential for expansion and expressed confidence that today's visit to Italy contributes to its full disclosure.
