Baku. TurkicWorld:
During the occupation period, there was a concerted effort to rewrite the history of Azerbaijan's religious temples in Karabakh, Chairperson of the State Committee for Work with Religious Structures of Azerbaijan Ramin Mammadov said, TurkicWorld reports.
He made the remark at the opening ceremony of the seminar “Religion factor in ideological struggle: expectations from media,” held in Shusha on September 23.
“Countless religious and historical monuments have been laid to waste on our lands by the Armenians. Our mosques were trampled upon, and there was a brazen attempt to rewrite the history of our sacred temples. Today, our state is rolling up its sleeves to breathe new life into our religious and cultural monuments,” he said.
Mammadov expressed optimism that many valuable ideas and comments from media representatives on the relevant issues will be addressed at the seminar.
