There is a serious potential for boosting trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and the Kyrgyz Republic. This transpired at a meeting between Economy and Industry Minister Petko Nikolov and newly appointed Kyrgyz Ambassador Idris Kadyrkulov, BTA reported.
They discussed ways to intensify and expanding bilateral trade and economic relations.
Minister Nikolov noted that there is potential for advancing cooperation in agriculture, as Bulgaria could expand exports to the Kyrgyz Republic of a number of goods for the agricultural sector and the processing industry.
It also transpired that a draft agreement on economic cooperation is under negotiation, which is expected to establish an intergovernmental Bulgarian-Kyrgyz commission for economic cooperation. The conclusion of the agreement and the establishment of the intergovernmental commission will provide an opportunity to intensify the bilateral dialogue, both at institutional and business level.
The sides also discussed the possibility of concluding a number of other agreements, including an agreement on mutual protection of investments, which would contribute to expanding bilateral economic relations.
