Water supply in several villages of Azerbaijan's Karabakh restored

In accordance with the instructions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Azersu OJSC continues to work on the restoration and reconstruction of water supply systems in the liberated lands, the Coordinating Headquarters established to resolve issues in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation in a centralized manner told TurkicWorld.

Urgent measures are being implemented to supply facilities with water in the liberated from occupation Sugovushan and Talish villages of Tartar district.

According to the statement, the work conducted in the Sugovushan and Talish villages is being carried out as part of urgent measures to provide drinking water to settlements. Despite the fact that sub-artesian wells were drilled in both settlements, during the period of the occupation they fell into disrepair and were not exploited.

The specialists of Azersu OJSC assessed the possibilities of these wells and made a decision to put them back into operation. To this end, new pumps and generators will be installed in each of the sub-artesian wells in the Sugovushan and Talish villages.

From the location of wells to the settlements, a basic water supply line with a length of 3 km has been laid by means of polyethylene pipes of various diameters. In the village of Talish, the construction of a water pipeline has already been completed, and in the Sugovushan settlement, work is nearing completion. In general, 90 percent of the main water pipelines have been constructed.

Furthermore, from the newly built water lines, a connection to the internal systems of the facilities will be created. Completion of construction and installation works is envisaged in the near future.

In order to restore the drinking water supply, Azersu OJSC has conducted urgent work in the Shusha city, Hadrut settlement, Kalbajar, Lachin, Gubadli, Zangilan, Jabrayil and Fizuli regions.
