BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. The operational company Baku City Circuit (BCC) has reinstalled the “Green Post” at the 19th corner of the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix track, continuing its commitment to environmental protection, the company's press service told TurkicWorld.
According to the statement, this innovative project launched last year aims to raise global awareness of environmental conservation by leveraging the high profile of motorsport.
The “Green Post” symbolizes the commitment to a greener, more sustainable future for motorsport. Marshals stationed at this post are equipped with specially designed green uniforms made entirely from recycled materials.
Additionally, all equipment used at the post adheres to strict environmental standards, minimizing plastic use and prioritizing eco-friendly alternatives.
BCC underscores the significant role motorsport plays in promoting environmental responsibility and highlights a successful project within Formula 1's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities through this initiative.
Since 2019, Formula 1 has been implementing a sustainability strategy aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, innovating in all race cities, and ensuring inclusivity in the sport.
Baku City Circuit invites the motorsport world, officials, and fans to join in supporting this initiative.
