BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. The creation of a unified Turkic alphabet is a crucial step towards strengthening unity and cooperation among Turkic states, the Chairman of MÜSİAD Azerbaijan, Rashad Jabirli, said in a statement, TurkicWorld reports.
Jabirli emphasized the significance of this new alphabet for the future of the Turkic world.
"In an era of rapid integration among Turkic peoples with a rich cultural heritage, the presence of a unified alphabet holds exceptional importance," Jabirli stated.
He also noted that the creation of this alphabet will bolster economic ties among Turkic nations.
"Today, the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which has become an effective platform for discussion among Turkic-speaking countries, plays a historic role in the bright future of the peoples represented in this region," Jabirli added.
Earlier, a joint commission established by the Turkic Academy of the OTS agreed on the creation of a unified Turkic alphabet consisting of 34 letters.
